For some reason I thought that it would be similar to MAC Verve, however clearly I was dead wrong. I have a feeling that MAC Persistence might be a closer contender, however I couldn't find it and unfortunately could not include it in this swatch test. If it does come up in the near future, I'll be sure to include a swatch in this post. Persistence really works for you! Out of all matte collections I have to say MAC is more gentle than other brands I feel. I have Honey Love, Velvet Teddy, and Russian Red. I hardly touch those anymore, because right now I'm into bright corals when I'm not wearing the usual nude from Maybelline. Persistence (left in the top photo, right in the bottom photo) and Whirl (right in the top photo, left in the bottom photo) look quite similar, but as you'll find out, I prefer one over the other! Persistence is a matte warm peach-toned brown. Whirl is a matte neutral rose-y brown. Stone is a matte, grey-toned taupe brown. My Review:
I am a fan of this new packaging of the infallible range as I have told you guys already. These come in sturdy tubes with long color-coded plastic caps for easy demarcation if you have multiple shades. Easy and sleek to carry around and apply. The texture is rich and creamy, neither flat matte nor glossy and applies evenly on lips, does not emphasize lip lines/dry patches at all. Works even better if you have a clear balm underneath!

It is a rich red-tinged plum color, goes brilliantly with traditional wear and color palette and is a perfect bold color for autumn/fall. I usually steer clear of such colors as they clash with my cool skin tone but my mom thrives on these colors and I perfectly see why. The pigmentation is rich and a couple of swipes is sufficient to get enough color on lips.

- Lasting power is great- well beyond 5-6 hours.
- Does not dry out my lips after wearing off.

Do I recommend? Personally, I avoid shades of this family as I feel it clashes with my skintone and I hardly ever wear dark lip colors except weddings but my mom adores reds and maroons and snatched it as soon as I got it. Plus olive complexioned beauties will look awesome in this color! So do try it out the next time you go to the store.
